Dolphin Discovery Foundation Presents the 5th edition of “10,000 SMILES”

  • Dolphin Discovery Group will donate a percentage of its earnings to causes that contribute to health, education and the environment.

 

Cancún, Quintana Roo on the 10 of April 2017. Dolphin Discovery Group, a Mexican company recognized worldwide for its commitment and responsibility to nature, conservation of marine and terrestrial species, presented the 5th edition of “10,000 Smiles” at a press conference. This is an annual event that has two main objectives:

 

  • That children carry out interactive swimming programs with dolphins at a preferential price to celebrate their special day.
  • Raise funds for various foundations.

 

In this edition, the foundations benefiting will be Michou & Mau I.A.P., ASTRA A.C., Jorge Alann A.C., Trascendiendo el Autismo A.C., Red Autismo A.C., funds will also be allocated for projects; Dolphin Saving Oceans and Amar es cuidar.

 

“In addition to our corporate social responsibility practices in Dolphin Discovery Group for more than 12 years, we have raised funds to put forth the strong commitment we have as a socially responsible company with the communities where we operate through community action programs in the vulnerable sectors of society, it has allowed 10,000 Smiles to position itself as the flagship program of the Dolphin Discovery Foundation. With the previous four editions, positive results were achieved, which motivates us to continue to support Mexican children in health and education fields, “said Guadalupe Jiménez, head of the Dolphin Discovery Foundation.

 

The dynamic to raise funds that Dolphin Discovery Group has organized is that on April 29, all the funds obtained through the following activities will be donated:

 

  • All interactive swimming programs that take place in all of its habitats, from the morning (until 12:00 pm), will be sold at a regular basis via travel agencies, website or direct purchase.

 

  • In Mexico, starting at 12:00 pm, the interactive program called “Encounter Program”, will have a special cost for the local population (in order to make it affordable and available) from the 1 to the 19 of April the cost will be $ 200.00 pesos for children and $ 300.00 pesos for adults and from April 20 to the 29 the cost will be $ 250.00 pesos for children and $ 350.00 pesos for adults. It should be noted that the regular cost for this program is higher than $1,000.00 pesos (Each habitat offering different inclusions)

 

  • In our habitats abroad, starting at 12:00 pm, the “Encounter Program” will also be available and will be offered in exchange for a recovery fee with a minimum pre-sale value from the1 to 19 of April, 10 USD for children (6 to 17 years of age) and adults (over 18 years) for a price of 20 USD and from the 20 to 29 of April, 15 USD for children (6 to 17 years) and adults (over 18 years), 25 USD.

 

The 5th. Edition of “10,000 Smiles” is designed within the setting of the Day of the Children, with the intention of generating, as its name describes, 10 thousand smiles in the children who participate or are benefited in this practice of social responsibility.

 

The dynamic for donations in Mexico is estimated to reach $ 1,200,000.00 (one million two hundred thousand MXN pesos), which will be donated by Fundación Dolphin Discovery IAP to  Michou & Mau I.A.P., ASTRA A.C., Jorge Alann A.C., Trascendiendo el Autismo A.C., Red Autismo A.C., for the implementation of projects that contribute to the health and education of children, as well as contribute to causes in pro of environmental well-being in Quintana Roo, Mexico City, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta.

 

The actions carried out by the participating foundations are focused on facilitating treatments for children who suffered severe burns and who require specialized medical care or who, in their case, require therapies for Autism Spectrum Disorder (TEA) and do not have the necessary resources to improve their quality of life, simultaneously there have been actions of sensitivity programmed on the importance of the preservation of the environment.

 

It is important to note that 10,000 Smiles, in its previous editions, has been recognized by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi), the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility in Mexico (AliaRSE) and Forum Empresa, as a company with “The best practices in the area of interconnection with the community “.
